College Transport

St Augustine's is no longer able to offer home-school transport as of September 2026.

Please find below some useful information on local bus and train routes.

Public bus routes

From Swindon, Devizes and Wroughton: Stagecoach 49 Bus

From Chippenham and Melksham: Faresaver X34

From Frome: Frome Bus

A number of these stop directly outside the College.

Train routes

Trowbridge is connected by train to Bradford on Avon, Westbury, Melksham, Warminster, Chippenham, Frome and Swindon.

Trowbridge train station is 0.5 miles from the College - a short 10 minute walk.

Wiltshire Council Spare Seats Scheme

Parents and carers may be able to apply for a spare seat on a school transport service through Wiltshire Council’s Spare Seats Scheme.

Where spare capacity is available on an existing school bus or transport route, seats may be offered to pupils who are not eligible for free school transport. Places are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.

Subsidised or free transport for U16 students

Students residing in Wiltshire

Wiltshire Council offers free or assisted transport to the closest school or the designated school for transport purposes for eligible school children who live in Wiltshire subject to a distance criteria of 3 miles.

Applications should be made using the form below when starting a new school or changing address, otherwise, a repeat pass will be sent at the start of each school year.

Students residing in Somerset

Eligible students may apply for either free school travel assistance or on a paying basis if they do not meet these conditions.

Post-16 Students transport options

Students residing in Wiltshire

Students studying in the 6th form at St Augustine’s may be eligible to apply to Wiltshire Council under the post-16 scheme to travel on the public bus services at a discounted rate.
