Section 48 Inspection Report

St Augustine’s Catholic College Celebrates ‘Outstanding’ Catholic Schools Inspection
St Augustine’s Catholic College is celebrating an “Outstanding” judgement in all areas following its recent Catholic Schools Inspection.
Inspectors recognised the college as a “safe, happy and authentic Catholic school” where students flourish and make an “exemplary” contribution to service and community life.
At the heart of the report is the exceptional quality of relationships across the school. Staff and students describe a community where people are known, valued and supported, and where a strong culture of care underpins both academic success and personal development.
The school’s Catholic and Lasallian values are “embraced by all and inform every aspect of school life,” creating a shared sense of purpose across staff, students, governors and families.
Students benefit from high-quality Religious Education, with outcomes above national averages, and from a rich prayer life where worship is central to the daily experience of the school.
Inspectors also highlighted the impact of strong leadership in driving sustained improvement, enabling the college to continue its journey from strength to strength.
Headteacher Aidan Dowle said:
“This outcome reflects the strength of our whole community. We are proud of the relationships we build, the care we show and the shared commitment we have to ensuring every young person can flourish.”
This judgement marks an important milestone for the college, which now looks forward to building on its success and continuing to grow as a community rooted in faith, service and excellence.
