Where each student is encouraged and challenged to develop and achieve their gifts
At St Augustine’s we strive for academic excellence by unlocking the potential in each individual student. Our academic courses, combined with our extensive extra-curricular programme, aim to equip our students with the necessary skills to excel in a 21st century society. Our highly dedicated and committed teaching staff is guided by the La Sallian philosophy that teaching is a ministry of grace; the teachers invest time, energy and enthusiasm into their teaching and expect the same of our learners.
Assessment is rigorous and informs progress through self, peer and teacher assessment. Our students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and are guided in tracking their own progress against their estimated grades. Progress is shared with parents via interim progress reports, formal written reports and parent consultation evenings. Whenever there are concerns, intervention strategies are employed by subject teachers to tackle underperformance and parents are informed. Students and parents are encouraged to engage in the learning journey; mutual efforts also foster strategies for sustained improvement.
