On 13th February a group of GCSE Spanish students from Years 10 and 11, together with Mrs Sykes, Mme Miché and Mr Kenrick, set off for a cultural visit to Málaga, happily leaving the wet and windy British weather behind for a few days.
In Spain we enjoyed a full and varied programme of activities, including a visit to a Spanish school for a language exchange; visits to the Cathedral, Alcazaba (Arab fortress), Picasso Museum, food market, Contemporary Arts Museum and tapas restaurant in Málaga and a day in Granada, visiting the beautiful Alhambra Palace and the old town and enjoying chocolate con churros. We also had a flamenco dancing workshop during which we had some great participation. The flamenco teacher was very impressed with our group!
The trip gave students a taste of Spanish life and culture, including art, architecture, food, dancing and conversation. Students had plenty of opportunities to use their Spanish listening and speaking skills every day. We came away with some great photos and happy memories of a very enjoyable trip.
