As part of the Year 7 curriculum for Geography and History, students have been learning about sanitation. In History the focus has been on how sanitation has changed over time and in Geography the focus has been on global inequalities around sanitation. To support their learning the students promoted a ‘Wear blue for the loo’ mufti day on World Toilet Day. To help promote our Lasallian Values students were asked to bring in £1. As a result of this event we raised £600 which has been sent to the charity Toilet Twinning, enabling us to ‘purchase’ 10 toilets in developing countries. Once they have received the donation, we will receive details of the location of these toilets and certificates to display in our facilities. This will act as a reminder of how lucky we are and that we should not take what we consider essential facilities for granted. Keep an eye out in the coming term to see where our money has gone.
