We are overjoyed to celebrate with our Year 13 students their excellent examination results, which are well deserved. It has been a jubilant occasion witnessing the happiness, triumph and relief after such hard work and a long summer of anticipation. These results have enabled almost all our students to access their first or second choice university, conservatoire or chosen career path.
Students have worked very hard with the support of their teachers, and they and their families should be very proud of their successes. We are thrilled that 66% of our students achieved A* – B grades, with 88% achieving A* – C grades. It is fantastic that eight students achieved three or more A* or A grades, with 20% of students achieving A* – A grades overall. It is also exciting that three of these students have been accepted to Oxbridge: William Starkey, from Winsley, is taking up his place at Christ’s College, Cambridge to read Law and Ellie Brown, from Bratton, is accepting a place at St Catherine’s College, Oxford to read Mathematics. Taylor Minty (Devizes) has also been accepted to Hertford College, Oxford to read Law. In addition to this, Trowbridge’s Abigail Hunt is going to study Veterinary Sciences at the University of Surrey and Beth Chalmers, from Frome, will be studying Law and Spanish at the University of Bristol. Beth is one of many of our students who has won a place at a Russell Group University. All these results and the education received at St Augustine’s gives our students a strong foundation on which to build, develop and flourish in their future pathways. We wish the Class of 2019 every success with their next steps and know that they will continue to be of great service to others.
