Anniversary Mass
As a College we came together at 11.30am on Tuesday 11th July to mark the 50th Anniversary of St Augustine’s with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Declan.
To mark the event former student and now professional composer James Otto was commissioned to write a College anthem which is called ‘Together’. The performance you will hear was recorded on Mr O’s phone at the front of the sports hall just after communion.
It was a wonderful experience and there was definitely a very special atmosphere.
Thank you to past student Mike Cobb who conducted a couple of the pieces and to others who made a big effort to especially come back and join us, Sorcha Rudgley, Imogen O’Mahony, Karla Mawby, Ruth Chester, Louie Williamson, Harley and Christian Wye, Laura Gumbley, James and Katy Otto, Rowan Fisher, Huw Cheston, Bella and Ben Bryan and Rachael Crofts. Apologies if anyone has been left out! It was wonderful to see Jane Wavre again and to many of the instrumental team who came along and either played or sung.
