Although first and foremost a school, life at St. Augustine’s includes far more than work; having built strong relationships with all my teachers, I know that they go above and beyond what is required of them to ensure that not only does every student have a complete knowledge of the subject, but that they enjoy learning too. I have participated in both musical and sporting sides of the college’s extra-curricular life, having had the opportunity to challenge and further my own interests, such as in the annual Young Musician competition, or at school sports days or clubs.
The college has excellent facilities, and embraces the passion that students share for their extra-curricular activities. Having just moved into our new study room dedicated to the patron saint of teachers, the Sixth Form are all aware of the foundation on which the College’s spiritual life is based. The Catholic ethos runs through all aspects of the College, promoting an inclusive, supportive and caring atmosphere, which benefits students and members of staff alike. With only a year left at St Augustine’s, I know that I have benefited immensely from the approach the College takes to education and the development of its students, and am grateful in the knowledge that I have exceeded my own aspirations because of it.
