The Book of Excellence
Each month, one student from each year group will be named in the Book of Excellence. This prestigious book is displayed in the college foyer and students may be named in the book for an outstanding contribution in an area in or out of the College. Students who are named in the Book of Excellence will receive a certificate and an “Excellence Badge” which they may proudly wear as part of their uniform.
Several of the subject areas have their own awards which are given monthly or each term, for example “Linguist of the Month” or “Mathematician of the Month”.
The Physical Education Department awards a colour badge to those students who have shown excellence, commitment and a positive attitude towards college sports.
House Award System
Students will be given the opportunity to contribute points to their houses. These points are awarded for effort in the academic, pastoral and community denominations of the College. Community rewards are given to all students for their contribution to the ethos of the College and the exercise of Gospel values among the members of the college community.
Merits are awarded for excellent work and effort. They are held in high regard by all at the College. You will start with a Bronze merit card and, once you have 78 merits, you will move on to Silver and then Gold. You will receive a merit badge and certificate so that everyone in the College will know how well you are doing.
Merits and commendations are awarded for effort in academic subjects in the lower school with a positive referral system in the upper school.
