It is with sadness that I write to announce the recent death of our school’s very first Head Teacher, Mr Tom Johnson.
Mr Johnson was founding Head Teacher at St Augustine’s between 1967 and 1987. He will be fondly remembered as a true gentleman who was caring and kind, always supportive of staff and school families and known for his firm but fair and friendly approach. The school community is grateful for all he contributed to the school as its first Head Teacher.
Local Catholic history was a passion for him in his later years, and he was author of the beautiful and highly regarded book ‘Tapestry’. A copy is available in the reference section of Trowbridge library.
Here a just a few photographs to remember Mr Johnson at St Augustine’s Catholic College.
