On Saturday 25th July 2017 we celebrated our 50th Jubilee with a party. It was a warm and balmy evening and the College was looking particularly delightful; flowers in full bloom and grounds immaculate. The canteen had been turned into a stylish dining area and the hall had been decorated like a cool, jazz nightclub in preparation for the disco. The lawn at the front of the college had been transformed into a chilled garden party complemented by the 3 Dagger’s pub Beer Bus!
It was so lovely to see lots of past pupils and past and present staff, governors and parents. On arrival, bucks fizz in hand, guests were treated to an optional tour of the College hosted by some of our wonderful pupils. Some were amazed at how much the college has changed and grown since their day!
After speeches by Joe Alsop (Head Teacher) and Peter Bates (Chair of Governors), it was time for dinner. Prepared and cooked by our own kitchen staff, delicious sausage and mash followed by strawberry roulade was served. Some of our current pupils, in school uniform, helped wait on tables; all were friendly, chatty and extremely helpful – such brilliant ambassadors!
More guests arrived after dinner to enjoy the disco and catch up with old friends. It was a super evening and fun was had by all.
A huge thank you to everyone who came and to all those involved with the organisation.
Here’s to the next 50 years!
