On Wednesday 14th December, 33 Yr9 students took part in the STEM Young Engineers, Energizer Event. The students took part in 2 challenges using their knowledge of Science and Technology to help them.
The first challenge was to create the fastest wind turbine. They had to model an idea, test it and then re-model it. This was won by Jessica Chandler, Imogen Wakefield and Ruth Perera.
The second challenge was to assemble an electric car and add a body to make it go the fastest. This took a lot of testing to get the cars to go forward and go quickly. The students took part in 3 races and the fastest car belonged to Matthew Barnard, Ahmad Shafagh and Peter Adeosum.
It was lovely to see the students being creative and competitive during the event and working together in their teams.
