GCSE Results
Once again we are delighted with this year’s superb GCSE exam results and are we are proud of each and every one of our students. It was no surprise that the examination results were so strong because the students displayed a mature work ethic for the duration of their studies and therefore thoroughly deserved to do so well.
All our students have achieved the grades that they needed to ensure their next steps.
78% of our GCSE students secured 5A*- C including Maths and English with 33 students, representing over 22% of the year group, attaining 8 or more GCSEs graded A*/A. In addition to this 85% of our students made expected or better than expected progress in English and 92% made expected or better than expected progress in Maths. This is a great achievement and underlines how determined to succeed this year group was.
These wonderful results will keep us amongst the highest performing schools in the country and show that the vast majority of our students make expected or better than expected progress and are ready to continue their studies post-16.
These results, combined with the outstanding A Level results last week, highlight that the students at St Augustine’s have an excellent work ethic and are ready to take their place in the world of work or further study. I am grateful to the staff who have worked in partnership with supportive parents to achieve these truly outstanding results.
